Celebrating 35 years at Canton Air Sports

December 2nd, 2009
This year, we at Canton Air Sports were proud to celebrate 35 years as a premier Ohio dropzone. On October 10th and 11th, the hangar was full of students and experienced jumpers alike, proud to not only be a part of the sport, but to be a part of the community that has evolved at Canton Air Sports.

Over the years we have collected quite the following of skydivers who call Canton Air Sports their home.

Dirt Dive

With two beautiful, sunny days, our jumpers were able to come out and take advantage of Lady Liberty, the caravan that was contracted from Start Skydiving in Lebanon, OH. Pilot Travis had his hands full with load after load of tandems and sport jumpers who were eager to experience life in freefall at 13,000 feet above the Earth.

After a full day of jumping on Saturday, the plane was parked and the beer began to flow. Manifest quickly turned into a pot-luck where our jumpers were able to eat, drink and reminisce. Freefly and swooping videos were shown throughout the night on the big screen, while skydivers gathered around the bonfire to share in the stories of the past days, weeks, and years in the sport.

This is what skydiving is all about – the community. At Canton Air Sports, we’re lucky to have such a great group of skydivers who come back week after week to do what they love most. We’re grateful to share in these experiences with everyone, and look forward to the soon-to-be tandem, student, and experienced skydivers that will grace us with their presence and become part of the Canton Air Sports family.

Until next time.

Blues Skies!
